NEW FILTER ALBUM ON THE WAY IN MAY! Single out in March!

WIND-UP RECORDS SIGN FILTER
Multi-Platinum Band Readies Release for Spring, 2013

New York -- Wind-up Records has announced the signing of rock act Filter.  The band is currently readying a new album in Los Angeles at BLUE ROOM studio’s with producer Bob Marlette. Formed in 1993, Filter has enjoyed significant success over the past two decades, This will be the band's sixth studio album, and follows the 2010 offering The Trouble with Angels. The bands decorated history also includes such platinum and gold recordings as Short Bus (1995), Title of Record (1999), The Amalgamut (2002), and Anthems for the Damned (2008).

The album is being written and recorded by leader Richard Patrick and guitarist Jonny Radtke, as well as collaborator Marlette. There will also be performances from touring members Jeff Friedl and Elias Mallin  (drums) and Phil Buckman (bass).  The lead single will impact radio in March with the album following in May, 2013.

Wind-up Records President Ed Vetri shares, "We're thrilled to welcome Richard Patrick and Filter into the Wind-up family.  This is a successful band with an extremely impressive body of work and I'm happy to say that based on the demos I've heard, this new album could very well be their best to date. Filter is more committed than ever to delivering great repertoire and bringing these songs to life at their live shows throughout 2013.”  Filter singer Richard Patrick adds, "We're excited to enter a new phase of our career with Wind-up.  They're expecting great things from us and we plan to deliver."

About Filter
Eclecticism has been a hallmark of Richard Patrick’s career in Filter, and he's administered it with crushing efficiency. The band arrived on the scene in 1995 with the critically acclaimed album Short Bus, a disc Rolling Stone praised as "a timely combination of grunge heat and industrial ice." Fueled by top 10 hit "Hey Man Nice Shot," the album rocketed to No. 3 on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart and went on to sell more than a million copies. They raised the bar with 1999's Title of Record, which featured the top 10 rock hit "Welcome To The Fold" along with a blockbuster crossover smash in "Take A Picture," a song that shot to No. 3 on Billboard's Modern Rock Chart, No. 7 on its Adult Top 40 Chart and No. 1 on its Dance Music/Club Play Chart. The years that followed saw the band releasing three more albums (2002's the Amalgamut, 2008's Anthems For The Damned and 2010's The Trouble with Angels), while touring the world and amassing an international fanbase whose members number in the millions. Filter has also contributed songs to several soundtracks, including 2012, Judgment Night, Spawn (the Crystal Method collaboration “(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do”), Little Nicky,, Demon Knight, Stepfather, Anger Management, Crow 2, Girl Next Door, Cable Guy and many more.

About Wind-up Records
Wind-up Records is a privately-owned, full-service music entertainment firm founded in 1997. The Company has successfully launched numerous multi-platinum artists, including Evanescence, Creed, Seether, and Finger Eleven and has further built on the successes of The Darkness, Five for Fighting, James Durbin and O.A.R. In addition to these marquee acts, Wind-up has scouted and developed several award-winning, newer artists, such as Civil Twilight, Young Guns, Company of Thieves, Jillette Johnson and The Virginmarys.

Wind-up brings a unique approach to developing and breaking bands. Since its inception nearly 15 years ago, the Company has shipped over 60 million units worldwide. Wind-up has garnered seven multi-platinum albums (including one diamond – sales over 10 million) and seven gold albums.
