It's my blog's 1 year anniversary! It's also Richard Patrick's birthday and Bono's birthday.
I originally started this blog mainly because RP asked me and some other fans to help promote his new Filter album, The Trouble with Angels, in the online world.
SO, in honor of Rich's birthday, I'd like to officially announce that I will be attending the Filter show in New Jersey in ONE MONTH! It will be my second time seeing Filter in concert and I'm pretty sure I'll finally get to meet him this time...I'm stoked, excited, nervous and giddy about it! officialfilter.com
AND...I'm also going to go on the Shiprocked cruise in November! 5 days on a ship in the Mexican Riviera with FILTER!!!!! And some other bands, but Filter is the only reason I'm going haha. I really don't think it's fully sinking in yet that I'm actually going... getshiprocked.com

I got to catch Stone Temple Pilots in concert last night in Richmond kind of last minute. It was a great show at Innsbrook. A pretty but chilly night in a field surrounded by trees, stars in the sky, and rock music blaring into the universe. Here's a link to some great pics and then my bad quality videos haha.

I also volunteered this year to help out at the Celebrate Virginia Live concerts in Fredericksburg. I was a ticket taker at the first show of the season for Lynyrd Skynyrd. They had about 6500 people show up so I ripped and scanned A LOT of tickets haha. But it was fun and I got a snippet of "Free Bird" of course...as well as the fireworks afterwards. Please excuse my sideways view. I was still learning this new phone of mine...
Fredericksburg's own band The Idiomatics got the opportunity to perform at The National in Richmond. I got a rough vid of them too haha, followed by a good vid that was more professionally recorded. Oh and you can hear me giggle in the beginning of that one.

First off, the physical album release of Duran Duran's new album "All You Need is Now" is TOMORROW! There are several versions available in the UK and US. I pre-ordered the deluxe US version from amazon.com which is the full CD and DVD package. They have several exciting TV appearances and such going on so be sure to catch them!

On St. Patty's Day, I had the pleasure of catching a rare performance by our semi-retired Fredericksburg legends, Elephant Boy. Here are a few vids I got of the show. The sound quality sucks but you can still get a feel for their famous funk.

MUMFORD AND SONS
I was very excited that Mumford and Sons got nominated for a grammy. Unfortunately they did not win Best New Artist. But their performance hopefully gained them some new fans!

I've been a Moby fan for quite some time and saw him in concert around 2001.
MINDLESS FAITH
I kind of randomly came across this band from Baltimore/DC about a week ago and was pretty blown away by them. They've been around for quite awhile and toured The Netherlands and such. I got to see them perform in Baltimore and they have another show coming up on March 31 in Richmond. They also played in LA this weekend and have an NYC date next weekend I believe.

Last but not least, our local semi-retired best band from Fredericksburg is supposed to be performing live at Hackers N Duffers on St. Patrick's Day! It's on Rt. 3 near Sakura's.
